A CHURCH WALKING THROUGH THE THIRD MILLENIUM

The Church has been inaugurated in October 26th 2003 by the Cardinal Camillo Ruini, Walter Veltroni, the Architect Richard Meyer and other important personalities.

This church, wanted by Pope Jhon Paul II to celebrate Jubilee 2000, had to represent the "Boat of the Church".
The three sails that tower over the nave symbolize the Holy Trinity

Even though it is a modern church, it followes closely the form of a classical religious construction with a gotic concept for its height and its façade with the belfry on one side.

The five bells are dedicated to:
1) Europe and Virgin Mary.
2) America, Saints Peter and Paul.
3) Africa and Saint Carlo Borromeo.
4) Oceania, Saints Cirillo Alessandrino and Tommaso D'Aquino.
5) Asia, Saints Francesco Saverio and Teresa of Gesù Bambino.

The semplicity ot this work of art is the main feature of the constuction in the roman suburb area.
